Find us in the leafy grounds of Canberra’s Haig Park on the Braddon side: where Lonsdale street meets Girrahween street.
We are next to Canberra’s late-night staple, the Mandalay Bus.
EVERY Sunday, produce stalls from 8am to 2pm, rain or shine! Including public holiday long weekends.
Getting There
There are plenty of transport options available to help get you from wherever you are to all the fresh, tasty market goodies you can fit in your basket.
Bus and Light Rail:
- Bus route 31 – get off at Torrens Street after Girrahween Street.
- Any Bus that stops at Civic bus interchange – it’s only a 15-minute walk from there.
- Light rail 1 & X2 – get off on Northbourne Ave at either the Ipima Street stop or the Elouera Street stop.
To find the best public transport route for you, visit Transport Canberra’s website and use the Journey planner to plan your trip here.
Walk or Bike:
The markets are pretty central so if you’re not too far away, by far the best way to get there is to walk or ride your bike.
Drive and Park:
If you need to take the car, street parking is available alongside all of Haig Park in the streets: Henty Street, Girahween Street, Greenway Street, Masson Street, all are within a 1-5 minute walk. There are some small carparks as well.
There is parking in front of the markets in the Girahween Street carparks if you are able to nab a spot!
Lastly, Watson Street in Turner has over 100 car spaces available, this is a 700m walk (8 mins) or even shorter scooter ride.
We always strive to reduce our carbon footprint though, so encourage those who can, to jump on the bus, light rail, take a stroll or ride your bike.
Toilets
The public toilets are located opposite Mort Street, along the pathway in Haig Park. It is the blue building next to the carpark.
