Our Story

Curating Experiences. All About Local.

Our women-led team at Haig Park Village Markets has a deep appreciation for markets and the role they play in shaping communities. Markets tell the story of a region - its makers, growers, creatives and entrepreneurs.

At Haig Park Village Markets, we support local small businesses that showcase everything the Canberra Region has to offer. Each market becomes a vibrant hub for producers, artisans and creatives, with a strong focus on collaboration, visitor experience, community inclusion, and sustainable practices.

What We Do

Our markets are carefully curated to create bespoke spaces where producers, artisans, designers, and growers connect directly with their customers. This allows every visitor not only to shop local, but also to meet the person behind the product and become part of the story.

Beyond trading, our markets bring people together through:

  • Curated experiences that highlight regional talent and creativity
  • Support for small businesses, providing a platform to test ideas and grow customer bases
  • Sustainability in action, from plastic-free initiatives to reusable programs
  • Community connection, with family-friendly programming, live music, and inclusive activations
Locally Grounded

Haig Park Village Markets is proudly founded and led by Alexandra Webb and our Canberran based team. Our team brings together diverse expertise in event delivery, design, sustainability and operations. We believe in creating pathways for small businesses to thrive.

A Landmark in Canberra's History

Haig Park has been part of Canberra’s landscape for more than a century. Established from 1921, the park was originally planted as a windbreak to protect the developing city from dust and strong winds, with thousands of trees forming the distinctive avenues seen today.

Named after Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig, the heritage-listed park has evolved from its practical beginnings into one of Canberra’s most recognisable inner-city green spaces. Its mature trees and historic layout provide a unique connection to Canberra’s early development, while today the park is a vibrant place for community, recreation and events.
